Château Montlabert Grand Cru 2019 Bordeaux, France, 75cl
Château Montlabert Grand Cru 2019
Bordeaux, France, 75cl
Château Montlabert dates back to the 18th century and consists of 80% Merlot and 20% Cabernet Franc plantings of over 25 years of age minimum. The utilization of 50% French oak barrels in the winemaking process makes fore a dense, richer style of wine compared to its earlier drinking La Croix Montlabert. Château Montlabert Grand Cru 2018 shows a deep, ruby red in colour with an enticing nose of black forest fruits, graphite and cinnamon. This follows through onto a full, well-structured palate finishing long. Drink now or cellar.
"The 2019 Montlabert has a classic style, well defined bouquet with well integrated oak. With time a loamy element as well as melted tar surface through the black fruit. The palate is medium-bodied with fine grain tannins, tarry black fruit and a gentle grip towards the finish. This is a well crafted Montlabert that should drink well for 12-15 years." - 90-92 points, Neal Martin, vinous.com.
