Gevrey Chambertin 1er Cru les Combottes Georges Lignier 2019 Burgundy, France, 75cl

Gevrey Chambertin 1er Cru les Combottes Georges Lignier 2019
Burgundy, France, 75cl
Located at the south entrance of Gevrey Chambertin, on a south exposed hillslope. Hand-harvested and 100% destemmed and macerated for 3-4 days. Ageing takes place in 228 litres French oak barriques (30% new) for 18 months before bottling and release.
"Mid cherry red. Invitingly open with ripe, dark and spicy/peppery fruit. It smells as if there were some stems in the ferment but apparently not. The tannins are finer than on the village Gevrey and the whole is more elegant, with a long fresh finish. A bit lean at the very end. Needs time. Wonderful scent in the empty glass promises much. Drink 2027 – 2032" - 16.5 Pts, Jancis Robinson MW, JancisRobinson.com
