Wines with stories, a sense of place, and that have freshness and tension are the wines that excite me. I was particularly taken recently with a Garnacha from Spain from the 4 Monos Viticultores (4 Monkeys) who met whilst hiking in the Sierra de Gredos Mountain range near Madrid. This bright and racy Garnacha is from one of the sub-regions of the Sierra de Gredos and it’s complex with notes of raspberries, cherries, black olives and heather, combined with a super crystalline freshness and levity.
