Château Belles-Graves 2017

From Lalande de Pomerol, Château Belles-Graves 2016 is composed of a blend of 88% Merlot and 12% Cabernet Franc from 40+ year old vines. It is aged for 12 months in oak barrels. Deep ruby/purple in colour with an abundance of black fruits on the nose. The palate is classic Bordeaux with ripe black fruits; blackcurrant, cherries and plum alongside cocoa, cedar wood and leather notes. The finish is long with subtle pepper notes. Well balanced between acidity and tannins. This is ready to drink now, though will benefit further cellaring. A fine Bordeaux at a reasonable price.
