"The 2012 Pontet-Canet is composed of 65% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Merlot, 4% Cabernet Franc, and 1% Petit Verdot. Deep garnet colored, it offers up scents of sauteed herbs, stewed red and black plums, and dried cherries, with touches of iron ore and unsmoked cigars. Medium-bodied, the palate has bright acidity and grainy tannins framing the bright red and black fruits preserve layers, finishing savory.
