As is often the case, the mark of a truly excellent winemaker is the quality of their lower tier wines, and if this is anything to go by, Thierry Pillot is up there with the best of a new generation.His Bourgogne Chardonnay 2021 reveals lovely mineral tension backed up with layers of fresh citrus, pear and green fruits notes. On the finish theres a combination of melted butter, brioche and a touch of roasted almonds. Serious quality here for a village Bourgogne Blanc.
