Intense black in colour from the 20+ years ageing in barrel, with a mammoth 500g/l sugar content. The palate shows an array of flavours from coffee, liquorice, sweet tobacco and prunes to figs, raisins, tea and a dozen other fleeting scents. There is a surprising balance of acidity and sweetness that makes this not clawing to drink.
