Jeanne Gaillard Syrah Terres de Mandrin 2021

A lightish, juicy Syrah in the aromatic Northern Rhône style which captures the peppery precision of Syrah from the north.

This IGP Syrah comes from 10 hectares of vines planted on sandy soils in Marzas and Malleval. Named after the Frech Folklore answer to Robin Hood 'Louis Mandrin'. Jeanne's aim is to make a lighter style than the big name villages - something approachable and instantly quaffable. And so the grapes are carefully sorted, entirely destemmed, and, after a cold maceration, are fermented at controlled temperatures kept to 25C max. The malolactic and six months of élevage then takes place in a mixture of barrel and tank.
