Rathfinny Estate Blanc de Noirs 2019 East Sussex, England, 75cl
Rathfinny Estate Blanc de Noirs 2019
East Sussex, England, 75cl
Composed of a blend of 85% Pinot Noir and 15% Pinot Meunier, hand-harvested from the estate, the wine is then fermented in stainless steel tanks and aged on lees for 36 months in bottle before release. Beautiful copper pink in colour with a perfumed nose of peony, cranberry and wild strawberry. The richly textured mousse reveals succulent flavours of wild strawberry, mulberry and almond with a baked bluberry pie and clementine finish. Delightful as an aperitif or paired alongside duck or venison dishes.
“Liquorice nose. It’s hard to believe the dosage is so low, because the ripeness and roundness of fruit on this wine is exceptional. Pin-point-fine bubbles snap the lemon and blueberry fruit into taut lines. There’s a cool stoniness, like mossy concrete; an almost imperceptible peppery nuttiness; and then the wine momentarily widens into sweet pear before narrowing into a piercing finish.” - Tamlyn Currin, JancisRobinson.com
